This petition for grant of regular bail has been filed by petitioner - Gurdeep Singh, being an accused in FIR No. 68, dated 16.7.2017, for offences under Sections 302, 364, 323, 148, 149 IPC, registered at Police Station Sadar, Abohar, District Fazilka. Briefly stated, the facts of the case, as per the prosecution story are that the criminal machinery in this case was set into motion by complainant Surinder Singh s/o Ranjit Singh, who stated that petitoner Gurdeep Singh and his co-accused had taken Ranjit Singh, father of the complainant from his house and caused injuries to him, to which he had succumbed at GGS Medical College, Banita Chugh 2018.05.09 17:49 I am the author of this document

The petitioner had moved an application for grant of regular bail to the Court of Sessions, which was declined by the Additional Sessions Judge, Fazilka, vide order dated 19.2.2018, as such he has approached this Court craving for grant of similar relief, which request is being opposed by the State counsel. I have heard learned counsel for the petitioner, learned State counsel, besides going through the record. The allegations against the petitioner are very serious and grave. There are reasonable chances of his absconding and trying to tamper with the prosecution evidence, if granted bail. Further there is apprehension of his taking to the path of the crime again if granted bail.
