Petitioner - Dharminder Singh, has filed the instant petition under Section 483 of the BNSS, 2023 (erstwhile Section 439 Cr.P.C.), seeking grant of regular bail in case FIR No. 44 dated 26.02.2025, registered under Sections 22(c) of NDPS Act, 1985 [S. 29 of NDPS Act, 1985 & Sections 345(3) & 238(a) of BNS, 2023, added later on], at Police Station Sadar Phillaur, District Jalandhar, Punjab.

As per case of the prosecution, on 26.02.2205, petitioner was driving a car make Verna, bearing registration No. PB15-F-3424 along with other co-accused, namely, Jyoti, Preeti and Monika. During search, from the possession of the petitioner - Dharminder Singh, 02 strips containing 15 tablets each labelled as Etizolam and 04 strips containing 10 tablets each labelled as Tramadol, and one strip containing 09 tablets of Tramadol were recovered by the police party.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner is inside the jail for a period of more than 01 year and 01 month and thus, be granted concession of regular bail.

On the other hand, learned State counsel has filed the status report dated 07.04.2026 in Court today, which is taken on record. Office to tag the same at appropriate place.

In view of above, this Court does not find any ground to grant concession of regular bail to the petitioner in the present case. Accordingly, present petition stands dismissed at this stage. Pending miscellaneous application(s), if any, also stand disposed of.
