(Oral) Petitioner No.1-Kashmir Singh aged 19 years and petitioner No.2-Inderjit Kaur aged 16 years, who are in a 'live-in' relationship have approached this Court seeking issuance of a direction not to harass the petitioners and for not involving them in a false criminal case. Another prayer has been made for directing the respondents No.2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners as the petitioners are living in a 'live-in relationship' against the wishes of parents of petitioner No.2.

Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and while refraining from making any expression as regards the veracity of the averments made in the petition, the petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 i.e. Senior Superintendent of Police, Amritsar (Rural), to get representation dated 25.2.2022 (Annexure P-3) examined as regards the MOHAN SINGH 2022.03.

- 2 - CRWP-2035-2022 (O&M) alleged threat perception of the petitioners and to take necessary action as may be warranted under the facts and circumstances of the case. A copy of this order alongwith copy of the representation dated 25.2.2022 be sent to Senior Superintendent of Police, Amritsar (Rural) (respondent No.2), so as to enable him to do the needful expeditiously. It is, however, clarified that the aforesaid order is not to be taken as any kind of expression as regards the relationship of the parties.
