The prayer in the instant criminal writ petition filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondent Nos.1 to 4 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners from the hands of private respondent No.5. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioners contended that the petitioners and their family are receiving life threats from the gangster-respondent No.5. Learned counsel submitted that the father of petitioner No.1 had also been killed by the unidentified shooters for not meeting their demand of ransom. Respondent No.5-Prabh Dasuwal Gangster took responsibility of said murder through social media. Learned counsel further submitted that the petitioner had moved a representation dated 06.02.2025 (Annexure P-7) to respondent No.3-Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran, but no action has been taken so far.

Learned State counsel placed on record a DDR bearing No.GD024 dated 23.09.2025 stating that one gunman was already deputed for the security of the petitioners.

The present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3-Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran, Tehsil and District Tarn Taran, that if he/she receives any representation from the petitioners regarding threat to their life, he/she will look into the representation and examine the threat perception and will provide adequate security to the petitioners, in accordance with law.
