ARVIND SINGH SANGWAN J. (Oral) Prayer in this petition is for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in FIR No.103 dated 19.10.2017 registered under Section 61/1/14 of the Excise Act, at Police Station Sandaur, District Sangrur. On 16.05.2018, the petitioner was directed to appear before the Investigating Officer on 23.05.2018 and he was granted interim anticipatory bail.

On 24.08.2018, no one appeared on behalf of the petitioner and it was stated by counsel for the State, on instructions from the Investigating Officer that the petitioner has not joined the investigation and thereafter, it was observed that one last opportunity is granted failing which the present petition will be dismissed. Even today, there is no representation on behalf of the petitioner and counsel for the State, on instructions from HC Jaspal Singh, has submitted that the petitioner has not joined the investigation.
