IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA
AT CHANDIGARH CRWP-1653-2023 Date of Decision : 21.02.2023 Saddam ......... Petitioner
Versus
State of Haryana and others ......... Respondents CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE JAGMOHAN BANSAL Present :
Mr.Chanderhas Yadav, Advocate for the petitioner.
**** JAGMOHAN BANSAL , J. (Oral) The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking directions to respondents No.2 to 4 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner and his family members. Learned counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that at the behest of the petitioner, FIR No.24 dated 09.02.2023, at Police Station Nagina, District Nuh, under Section 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act, 2012 and Section 506 of IPC has been registered against the private respondents and they are pressurising the petitioner to compromise the matter and withdraw the complaint. He further submits that one relative of the accused is sitting MLA, thus, police is not taking appropriate action against the respondents and life of the petitioner is in danger.
Learned State counsel on instructions from ASI Brij Pal submits that one accused stands arrested and the police is making free and fair investigation. She assures the Court that grievance of the petitioner would be looked into and if it is found that there is threat perception from accused, the appropriate steps would be taken.
