This is a petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for issuance of direction to respondent Nos.3 to 5 to comply with provisions of Section 160 read with Section 41-A Cr.P.C. and to provide atleast 7 days' advance notice in writing in case presence of petitioner is required in the police station in connection with any investigation or enquiry.

On the asking of Court, Mr. P.S. Grewal, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent - State. Let a requisite number of copies of the petition be supplied to him during the course of the day.

Learned counsel for the petitioners contends that the petitioners are being called by respondent No.4 and respondent No.3, accompanied by some other officials, came to them to convey a message to appear before the Station House Officer. An application/ representation dated January 7, 2016 (Annexure P-1) was preferred to Senior Superintendent of Police, Hoshiarpur but n o action is alleged to have been taken on the said application.

The instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 - Senior Superintendent of Police, Hoshiarpur, to look into the grievance unfolded in representation dated January 7, 2016 (Annexure P-1) and to take an appropriate action against the concerned officials in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
