On 10.02.2026, the following order was passed by this Court:- "Counsel for the petitioner has made a reference to Annexure P-2 to submit that petitioner completed the construction work and the running bill has been verified by the SDO concerned on 27.02.2025. He submits that entry of the bill has also been made in the measurement book, but the payment has not been disbursed. Advance copy of the petition has been served upon respondents.

On asking of Court, Mr. Siddharth Sandhu, AAG, Punjab has put in appearance on behalf of respondents No.1 and 2.

Ms. Prabhjot Kaur, Advocate has put in appearance on behalf of respondent No.3 and has filed memo of appearance, which is taken on record. Upon instructions, DEEPAK BISSYAN 2026.03.11 15:43 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CWP-3948-2026 -2she states that the amount found due to the petitioner shall be disbursed within a period of three months. List on 11.03.2026.

At this stage, counsel for the petitioner states that the work was completed in July, 2024 and final bill was verified on 27.02.2025. He has asserted that petitioner is entitled to interest on the unpaid amount.

This Court finds merit in the prayer made by counsel for the petitioner.

Respondents cannot withhold the payment to which petitioner is legally entitled. Accordingly, respondents are directed to pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum from the date of verification of the bill till disbursal on the amount due to the petitioner, within the aforesaid period of three months."

Learned counsel for the parties are ad idem that petition may be disposed of in terms of aforesaid order.
