HARINDER SINGH SIDHU, J Prayer is for grant of three weeks' furlough to the petitioner. The petitioner, who is undergoing imprisonment in case FIR No.62 dated 13.4.2007 under Section 302 read with Section 34 IPC and Sections 25,54,59 of the Arms Act registered at P.S Sadar Sonepat, District Sonepat, submitted an application dated 15.1.2019 (P.1) to the Superintendent Jail Rohtak seeking release on parole to enable him to meet his family members but no decision as yet has been conveyed to the petitioner in this respect.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has referred to Government Instructions dated 09.10.2014 (P.2) vide which it is provided that such application for parole/furlough are to be disposed of within the prescribed time.

Having heard learned counsel for the parties and taking into account the facts of the present case, this petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to decide the application of the petitioner for his release on furlough by adhering to the prescribed time as specified vide Policy (Annexure P.2).
