On asking of the Court, it has been informed by ASI Jagdish, Investigating Officer that challan has not yet been presented.

In view of the status of the investigation, I am of the opinion that it is always open to the injured and the complainant and other affected parties to approach the Investigating Officer by voluntarily offering to make a statement. If any statement is offered, the Investigating Officer is bound to record the same as per the provisions of Section 163(2) Cr.P.C.
