The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to consider case of petitioner for promotion to the post of Superintendent Grade-I.

Mr. Ishan Gupta, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner is due to retire from service on 30.04.2024 and he is entitled to promotion to the post of Superintendent Grade-I. The said post is lying vacant since August' 2023 and respondents are not deciding his fate. He has filed multiple representations including representation dated 29.08.2023 (Annexure P-1) but to no avail. The grievance of the petitioner, at this stage would be redressed, if respondents are directed to decide his representation in a time bound manner. 3.

Learned State counsel asserts that respondents/Competent Authority would look into the representation of the petitioner and an appropriate order shall be passed within 4 weeks from today. 7.

In the wake of statement of learned State counsel, the present petition stands disposed of with a direction to respondents/Competent Authority to decide representation of the petitioner within 4 months from today.
