(Oral) The present petition has been filed by the petitioner under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner for ante-dated promotion against the vacant post of Divisional Engineer (PH) and then to consider him for further promotion to the next higher post of Superintending Engineer in accordance with law. Learned counsel for respondent No.2 submits that during the pendency of the present writ petition, the petitioner was promoted to the post of Divisional Engineer and thereafter, he was promoted to the post of Superintending Engineer and has retired as such on 31.03.2016. CWP No.16304 of 1999 (O&M) Similarly, respondent No.3 has retired from service as Chief Engineer on 31.01.2015 and respondent No.4 has retired from service as Superintending Engineer on 30.09.2013 and thereafter, he has unfortunately died. She further submits that in this view of the matter, nothing survives in the present writ petition. Consequently, the present petition is disposed of.
