Charan Singh v. State Of Haryana And Others
IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA
AT CHANDIGARH CWP-5442-2021(O&M) Date of decision : 17.03.2021 Charan Singh ... Petitioner(s)
Versus
State of Haryana and others ... Respondent(s)
CORAM:
HON'BLE MRS. JUSTICE ALKA SARIN
Present:
Mr. Jasbir Mor, Advocate for the petitioner.
Mr. Gaurav Gulzar Singh Chauhan, AAG, Haryana, for the respondents.
**** ALKA SARIN, J. (ORAL) Taken up through video conferencing.
Prayer in the present Civil Writ Petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is to issue appropriate directions to the respondents to evaluate the answer sheet of the petitioner which, as per the petitioner, had not been evaluated as the petitioner had not darkened the circle of his Paper Code "D" though he had written the Paper Code "D" in the Box of the OMR Sheet.
On the last date of hearing i.e. 12.03.2021, learned counsel for the State had made a statement on instructions from Dikshant Goel, Legal Assistant, Haryana Staff Selection Commission, to the effect that the answer sheet of the petitioner had been evaluated and the petitioner had secured less marks than the last selected candidate.

CWP-5442-2021(O&M) -2Today, result of the petitioner has also been produced before this Court in a sealed cover, which is opened and seen. The limited prayer made in the present writ petition was that the answer sheet of the petitioner be directed to be evaluated and now since it is apparent that the answer sheet of the petitioner has been evaluated, nothing survives in the present writ petition. Accordingly, the present writ petition stands disposed off as having been rendered infructuous. Needless to say that in case the petitioner has any grievance qua the marks awarded to him, he shall always be at liberty to avail his remedy as available in law.
Result of the petitioner be returned to learned counsel for the State.
