The petitioner seeks grant of anticipatory bail in respect of a case registered vide FIR No.74, dated 28.12.2016, Police Station GRP, Chandigarh, under Sections 406, 420, 467, 468, 471, 34 and 120-B of Indian Penal Code. 2.

The allegations, in nutshell, are that the petitioner had taken a car on rent i.e. Mercedes car bearing registration No. DL-1N-7768 from complainant company i.e. 'Zoom Car India Private Limited' by way of booking it online for 10.12.2016 and although the booking was extended upto 11.12.2016 but the petitioner failed to return the same.

Learned State counsel, upon instructions from Inspector Manisha, has, however, informed that pursuant to interim directions, the petitioner has since joined investigation and that the car in question already stands recovered and the petitioner is not required for any custodial interrogation. 5.
