This is a revision petition under Article 227 of the Constitution of India with a limited prayer to direct the Appellate Authority, Chandigarh to decide the Rent Appeal bearing No.362 of 2016 titled as Sanjay Kumar vs. Rajesh Chauhan (Annexure P-7) in a time-bound manner in view of the fact that the petitioner is a senior citizen and a heart patient. Learned counsel for the petitioner would contend that the Rent Appeal was filed by the petitioner challenging the order dated 05.02.2016 passed by the Rent Controller dismissing the ejectment petition whereby eviction of the tenant was sought on the grounds of arrears of rent and personal bona fide necessity. It is further contended that the petitioner is a senior citizen and the Rent Appeal is pending since the year 2016 and as such a direction may be issued for early disposal of the Rent Appeal. CR-698-2021 (O&M) -2Since the revision petition is not being decided on merits, the issuance of notice of motion to the respondent is dispensed with. In view of the averments made in the petition and the submissions advanced by learned counsel for the petitioner, the present revision petition is disposed off with a request to the learned Appellate Authority, Chandigarh to decide the Rent Appeal No.362 of 2016, titled as Sanjay Kumar vs. Rajesh Chauhan, filed by the petitioner expeditiously, in accordance with law.
