**** MANJARI NEHRU KAUL, J. (Oral) The instant petition has been filed under Section 438 Cr.P.C., for grant of anticipatory bail, in case FIR No. 269, dated 24.12.2019, under Section 306 IPC, registered at Police Station Tanda, District Hoshiarpur, Punjab.

Learned counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that it is a case of false implication and no specific allegation finds reflected against the petitioner in the FIR in question. It has been further contended that t he deceased was residing with her parents for almost nine months prior to the occurrence and at no point of time any complaint was filed by her before the authorities concerned qua any harassment being meted out to her by the petitioner.

Heard.

A perusal of the FIR reveals that there are specific allegations against the petitioner and as per the same, the husband of the deceased was a gambler and an alcoholic, who would frequently borrow money from the petitioner. The petitioner took advantage of the same and compelled the deceased to develop illicit relations with him and also asked her to take JAWALA RAM 2020.02.28 12:53 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh divorce from her husband, as a result of which, the deceased shifted to her

However, just two days prior to the occurrence, the petitioner telephonically informed the deceased that he was not ready to marry her. Resultantly, the deceased slipped into depression and consumed poison, leading to her death.

Therefore, in the light of serious allegations levelled against the petitioner, no ground for grant of anticipatory bail is made out. Dismissed.
