**** ARUN MONGA, J. (ORAL) Petition herein, inter alia, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of certiorari for quashing impugned order dated 07.02.2000 (Annexure P-1) vide which benefit of adhoc service on the post of Assistant was denied to the petitioner for grant of Higher Standard Grade.

Petition was noticed for hearing on 08.10.2001. 3.

On previous date of hearing i.e. 30.08.2022, none appeared on behalf of the petitioner. Registry was directed to issue notice to the petitioner. On the next date of hearing i.e. 10.11.2022, again none appeared. Registry was again directed to issue fresh notice to the petitioner, which was received back duly served. On resumed hearing today, despite service, none appears on behalf of the petitioner. 4.

Even otherwise by sheer effluxion of time and pendency of the writ petition for more than 21 years before this Court, either it has been rendered infructuous or else the petitioner seems to have lost interest in pursuing the same. 5.

Be that as it may, writ petition is dismissed with liberty to the petitioner to file an appropriate application in case any cause of action still survives.
