NIRMALJIT KAUR, J. (ORAL) The contempt petition is filed for non-compliance of the order dated 23.12.2016 which was disposed of on the statement of learned State counsel that the role of all persons whose names figure in the FIR shall be investigated and investigation of the case shall be supervised by an officer not below the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police. Reply is filed. As per the said reply, SIT has been formed to go into the allegations.

In view of the above, contempt petition is dismissed. Rule issued against the respondents stands discharged. However, it goes without saying that SIT shall complete the investigation as early as possible and submit its report, as the case may be, within four months from today.
