This appeal under Section 173 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 is filed by the insurance company challenging the award of the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal dated 08.04.1994 for awarding compensation to the tune of Rs. 20,000/2 to the respondent2claimant Mohan Lal Saini along with interest at the rate of 12% per annum on account of injuries sustained in the accident.

The appeal has been pending in this Court since 1994 and thus 25 years have passed. It is conceded by learned counsel for the appellant that the amount of compensation awarded by the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal has already been paid to the claimants. Even there is nothing on record that any interim order at the time of entertaining the appeal was passed and thus there is no reason to believe that the award must not have been executed by now rendering this appeal infructuous. Once the amount has been paid and in our considered opinion no useful purpose would be served to proceed any further in the matter for paltry sum which already stands paid.

Appeal accordingly stands dismissed.
