Petitioner has filed this petition under Section 439 Cr.P.C. for grant of regular bail in case FIR No.161 dated 03.08.2015 under Sections 302, 307, 325, 341,, 506, 148, 149 and 120-B IPC, registered at Police Station Sadar Jagraon, District Ludhiana.

Notice of motion.

Mr.V.P.S.Sidhu, Asstt. Advocate General, Punjab, has put in appearance on behalf of the respondent-State and contested the petition. I have heard learned counsel for the petitioner as well as learned State counsel and have gone through the record. As per the record, petitioner Dhanna Singh is stated to be armed with kirch and kirch blow to deceased Harpal Singh is also attributed to present petitioner.

CRM No.M-11122 of 2017 -2case, nature and gravity of the offence and in view of the fact that active role has been played by present petitioner in the commission of the offence, I do not find it a fit case where petitioner is entitled to benefit of regular bail.

Therefore, finding no merit in the present petition, the same is dismissed.

However, as the petitioner is in custody since 05.08.2015, therefore, learned trial Court is directed to expedite the trial by giving short adjournments.
