Prayer made in the present petition is for quashing the order dated 17.10.1997, Annexure P-2, whereby as per the amended ordinance of 02.02.1995, the term of managing committee was extended from 3 to 5 years. Reference in the index of the petition was placed on the pendency of CWP-16092-1997, involving the same issue wherein operation of the impugned letter had been stayed. On 24.12.1997, the Division Bench had passed the following order:- "In similar matters we have reserved the judgment. However, stay was granted by this Court. That being so, till the judgment is pronounced, operation of Annexure P-2 is stayed." 2.

On 17.07.1998, during pendency of the present petition, the aforesaid writ petition was disposed of as such:- For the reasons to be recorded later, all those petitions in which three years tenure of the Committee had not come to an end on or after 2.2.1995, the writ petitions shall stand allowed. However, writ petitions wherein the tenure of three years of the Committee had come to an end on 1.2.1995 or prior thereto, the writ petitions shall stand dismissed."
