This is a petition filed under Section 439 Cr.P.C. seeking regular bail in a case registered against the petitioner vide FIR No. 489 dated 23.12.2014 under sections 379, 411, 413, 420, 467, 468, 471, 472, 473 read with section 120-B IPC at Police Station Civil Lines, Amritsar City district Amritsar. Petitioner is stated to be in custody since 23.12.2014. Out of forty-four witnesses cited by the prosecution only three have been examined. Plea of the petitioner is that he was not directly involved in stealing the vehicles. He is alleged to be acting in connivance with other accused and preparing forged registration certificate of stolen vehicles. His case is stated to be on different footing than that of other accused.
This court does not intend to express any opinion on the merits of the case. However, keeping in view period of incarceration and the fact that trial is not likely to conclude at an early date, I deem it appropriate to grant regular bail to the AJAY KUMAR 2016.04.21 16:27 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document
