(Oral) During the course of hearing of the bail matter, it has been pointed out that challan in this case was presented against the accused on 23.10.2017 consequent upon arrest of the petitioner on 17.5.2017 and that charges in this case were framed against the accused on 23.1.2018 and since then not even a single witness has been examined and thus, is in itself illustrative of the apathy of the trial court in proceeding ahead into the trial.
In the light of the fact that since a long time, the petitioner is behind the bars impels this Court to issue directions to the trial court to expedite the trial by giving short adjournments, using coercive means if so necessitated and ensure that the same is accomplished within six months with effect from today. In the light of the same, the present petition stands withdrawn by the counsel for the petitioner.
