Petitioner has filed this petition under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 seeking protection of his life and liberty and for issuance of direction to respondent No. 4 to provide him police protection.

Reply on behalf of the State is taken on record. Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that in view of the reply filed by the State, he may be permitted to withdraw the petition to enable the petitioner to avail other appropriate remedy, as per law.
