The present petition has been filed under Section 438 Cr.P.C. for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in FIR No.11 dated 17.01.2019 registered under Section 420 IPC (Sections 406, 120-B IPC added later on) at Police Station Civil Lines, Bathinda.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner inter alia contends that the petitioner is not named in the FIR. Neither any money has been transferred in the account of the petitioner nor he ever met the complainant. Moreover, he is a sleeping Director.

Short reply filed by way of affidavit of Mr. Manmohan Sarna, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Economic Offence and Cyber Cell, Bathinda on behalf of the respondent-State is taken on record. 4.

Learned State counsel submits that the petitioner is the Director of the company and a large number of people have been cheated. He is involved in six more cases registered against him in the States of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Gujarat and therefore, his custodial interrogation is required to find out the PANKAJ KUMAR 2024.03.06 18:30 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document

Having heard learned counsel for the parties and after perusing the record, this Court finds no ground to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 6.
