(ORAL) In the instant criminal writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, prayer has been made for issuance of a direction to respondents No. 2 and 3 for protection of lives and liberty of the petitioners and not to interfere in their peaceful life, at the behest of respondents No. 4 to 7.

Heard.

Without commenting on the merits of the case, respondent No.2-Superintendent of Police, Kapurthala, is directed to inquire as to whether the petitioners genuinely need any protection and if so, do the needful.
