   are praying for issuance of a writ in the nature of certiorari for quashing of orders dated 19.07.2024 (Annexure P-3) and 25.09.2024 (Annexure P-4), whereby the contract of the petitioners has not been extended by the respondents-University.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that a perusal of the abovesaid impugned orders would show that on the basis of FIR registered against the petitioners, their period of contract was not extended by the respondents. He submits that after passing of the abovesaid orders, two employees namely Inderjit Singh and Chand Singh, who were co-accused in the same FIR have been permitted to continue in service and they have been regularized on the post of Security Guard.

Learned counsel for the petitioners, on instructions from the petitioners, submits that he will be satisfied, if a direction is given to respondents-University to reconsider the case of the petitioners for extension of their contract period taking into consideration that the similar employees, who were co-accused in the same FIR, have been permitted to continue in service and their service has also been regularized.

Learned counsel for the respondents-University could not dispute the fact that the co-accused in the same FIR have been allowed to continue in service and their service has also been regularized. 5.
