ARUN MONGA, J. (ORAL) Petition herein, inter alia, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of certiorari for quashing impugned order dated 30.05.1996 (Annexure P-2) whereby benefits granted to the husband of petitioner towards the military service rendered by him during the national emergency were withdrawn. 2.

Petition was admitted for hearing on 18.05.2004. 3.

On previous date of hearing i.e. 16.11.2022, none appeared on behalf of the petitioner. Registry was directed to issue notice to the petitioner. As per office report, petitioner has since expired. Legal Representatives have not approached this Court. In the premise, no useful purpose would be served to issue fresh notice to the legal representatives as the same too would be an exercise in futility.

It seems that by sheer effluxion of time and pendency of the writ petition for more than 19 years before this Court, either it has been rendered infructuous or else the legal representatives seem to have lost interest in pursuing the same.

Be that as it may, writ petition is dismissed. 6.
