NAMIT KUMAR J. (Oral) Prayer in this writ petition filed by the petitioners under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of certiorari, for quashing the appointment of respondent No.5 as Administrator of Nagar Panchayat, Ajnala as Part IX-A of the Constitution does not provide for the appointment of Administrator. Further prayer has been made to quash the order dated 30.04.1998 (Annexure P-5) passed by the Director cancelling resolution No.33 dated 06.08.1994 and resolution No.51 dated 19.10.1994 and the termination orders dated 01.02.2000 (Annexure P-19 Colly.) passed by Mr. J.P. Singh, SDM, Ajnala. Another prayer has been made to stay the operation of termination orders dated 01.02.2000 (Annexure P-19 MOHD YAKUB 2024.12.03 17:03 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Punjab & Haryana High Court at Chandigarh
CWP No.1984 of 2000 Colly.) and the respondents be restrained from holding interviews in pursuance to advertisement dated 09.02.2000 (Annexure P-20), during the pendency of the present petition.
Learned counsel for respondent No.4 has produced a copy of the letter dated 02.12.2024, issued by the Executive Officer, Nagar Panchayat, Ajnala, wherein it has been stated that all the petitioners have continued in service and some of them have retired during the pendency of the present petition.
Learned counsel for the parties are ad idem that with the efflux of time, the instant petition has been rendered infructuous. Disposed of accordingly.
