Complainant-Gurpreet Singh had entered into an agreement to sell dated 25.6.2015 with owner Karnail Singh for purchase of land measuring 30K13M on receipt of Rs.6.5 lacs as earnest money. It transpires that Karnail Singh had already entered into an agreement with one Jagraj Singh qua the same land, leading to the lodging of aforesaid FIR.

Learned State counsel on instructions from HC Major Singh submits that apart from the aforesaid alleged role the petitioner also has affixed his signatures posing as Shivdev Singh on the agreement to sell as per disclosure statement of co-accused Karnail Singh. Therefore, it is submitted that his custodial interrogation is required for completing the chain of investigation. He further submits that petitioner is involved in three other cases of cheating and two under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act,1985. Keeping in view the above and nature and gravity of the offence no case for grant of anticipatory bail is made out. Dismissed.
