The petitioner has approached this Court by way of instant writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, directing respondents No.2 & 3 to issue arms licence to the petitioner in pursuance to File No.128/A.L.C. dated 03.12.2020. In this regard, petitioner has served a legal notice dated 09.02.2022 (Annexure P-7) upon respondents No.2 & 3, however, no action has been taken thereon by said respondents.

Counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner would be satisfied if the legal notice dated 09.02.2022 (Annexure P-7) served upon respondents No.2 and 3 is considered and decided by said respondents in a time bound manner.

Without commenting on merits of the case, I dispose of the instant petition by directing respondents No.2 & 3 to consider the legal notice dated 09.02.2022 (Annexure P-7) served upon them by the petitioner and take a decision thereon within a period of two months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order and convey the decision to the petitioner, failing which the officer responsible for the lapse would be liable to deposit costs of Rs.20,000/- from his personal pocket with the Punjab and Haryana High Court Advocates Welfare Fund.
