This writ petition has been filed for quashing orders dated 16.07.1981 and 19.04.1994 passed by respondent No.2 as well as order dated 13.01.1983 passed by respondent No.1 with a further prayer for directing the respondents to deliver possession of the property, in question, to the petitioner. Application under Section 11 of the Punjab Village Common Lands (Regulation) Act, 1961 filed by respondent-Gram Panchayat, had been allowed by the District Development and Panchayat Officer on 16.07.1981. Appeal filed by the petitioner challenging order dated 16.07.1981 was dismissed by the Joint Director, Panchayat, Punjab on 13.01.1983 and warrant of possession was issued OMKAR SINGH 2022.12.15 17:57 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document High Court, Chandigarh

CWP No.3633 of 1996 [2] on 19.04.1994. Aggrieved therefrom, the present writ petition had been filed. Perusal of the file reveals that on 12.03.1996 status quo regarding possession was directed, however, writ petition was admitted on 10.07.1996. while recording the statement of learned counsel for the petitioner that possession of the land in question was with respondent No.3-Gram Panchayat. None has been appearing on behalf of the petitioner. Consequently notice was issued to the petitioner. As per office report, no such person by the name of the petitioner resides at the given address. We are, thus, left with no other option but to dismiss this writ petition in default. However, by way of abundant caution liberty is afforded to the petitioner to file appropriate application in case of survival of any cause of action within eight weeks.

Copy of this order be conveyed at the given address of the petitioner.
