The petitioner seeks issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondent No.4 for re-registration and transfer of arms license bearing No.272/DMR issued on 7.8.2008 from Rambhan, Jammu & Kashmir to Hisar, Haryana.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is holding a arms license, which is to expire on 7.8.2023. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that under provisions of Rules 17 and 24 of Arms Rules, 2016, a license holder can apply for change of address and for registration of his arms license with the authority concerned having jurisdiction over the new address and that although he had moved an application dated 20.7.2021 (Annexure P-1) in this regard, but the same has not been decided till date. 3.

At this stage, Mr. Samarth Sagar, Additional Advocate General, Haryana, upon whom an advance copy of petition had already been served, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, but without commenting anything as regards the merits of the case, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.4 - District Magistrate, Mini Secretariat, Hisar, District Hisar (Haryana) to consider and dispose of the representation dated 20.7.2021 (Annexure P-1) in accordance with law expeditiously preferably within a period of 2 months from today. 6.
