Petitioner filed this petition seeking direction to respondents No.2 and 4 to submit status report in case bearing FIR No.101 dated 14.05.2014, registered at Police Station Civil Lines, Patiala for the offences punishable under Sections 420, 406 read with Section 120-B of Indian Penal Code.

Learned State counsel submits that earlier the cancellation report was filed against which petitioner filed a protest petition and the matter was referred, to the police to conduct further investigation. After conducting further investigation, cancellation report has again been filed on 13.07.2018 and the matter is now pending before the trial Court. CRM-M-12894-2018 -2earlier filed protest petition before the trial Court. He may be allowed to pursue that protest petition before the trial Court. In view of submission of learned counsel for the petitioner and learned State counsel, this petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to avail other legal remedies available to him and also to press the protest petition filed before the trial Court. If required, he may file fresh protest petition.

Trial Court is also directed to dispose of the matter pending before it expeditiously and at the earliest.
