The limited prayer in the present Civil Revision Petition under Article 227 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of a direction to the Rent Controller, Chandigarh to expedite the proceedings in Rent Petition No.197 of 2016 filed under Section 13 of the East Punjab Urban Rent Restriction Act, 1949, as applicable to U.T. Chandigarh. Learned counsel for the petitioner would contend that the petitioner herein is a landlord and the ejectment petition has been pending since 2016. Since the year 2019 it has been fixed only for the evidence of the respondents. Civil Revision No.913 of 2022 -2matter has been adjourned on various dates only for the appearance of one Mukesh Bhatnagar, the authorised representative of the Indian Express and that the landlord is suffering since 2016. The only prayer made by the learned counsel is that the ejectment petition be ordered to be disposed off expeditiously.

In view of the fact that the ejectment petition has been pending since the year 2016, the present civil revision petition is disposed off with a request to the Rent Controller, Chandigarh to dispose off the aforesaid ejectment petition expeditiously, preferably within a period of eight months from the date of passing of this order. Disposed off.
