This petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India inter alia seeking a writ in the nature of Mandamus for directing the respondent/department to release the salary of the petitioner w.e.f. May 2019 up to date with interest @ 12% per annum within a stipulated period.

Learned State counsel submits that the relief sought by the petitioner has already been granted as the salary of the petitioner stands released and in this regard, status report dated 02.04.2024 by way of affidavit of Arun Kumar, Block Development and Panchayat Officer, Kanina, on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3 has already been filed, wherein in para 5 thereof, the following averment has been made: "5.

That, as per the status report, Gram Panchayat, Dhanunda, has made the payment of outstanding arrear (4 year 8 Month and 27 days) of amount Rs.170700/- to the petitioner HIMANI GUPTA 2024.10.14 12:28 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document/judgment High Court, Chandigarh

CWP-4398-2024 -2on dated 15-03-2024, and petitioner submitted in his written submission that he has received the cross cheque no.372094 on dated 15-03-2024 from Gram Panchayat Dhanunda i.e. respondent no.5."

2.1 It is submitted by learned State counsel that as the relief sought by the petitioner already stands granted, therefore, the present petition has become infructuous.

At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he has no instructions in the instant matter.

Keeping in view the statement made by learned State counsel, the present petition is dismissed as having been rendered infructuous, however, the petitioner shall be at liberty to revive the present petition, in case, any of his grievance still subsists.
