Prayer in this petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 3(1)(d) of the Punjab Prisoner's Good Conduct Act, 1959 is for grant of parole to the petitioner for four weeks from 09.03.2022 to 05.04.2022. Learned State counsel, on instructions from ASI Gurmej Lal, submits that they have verified the contention made on behalf of the petitioner that marriage of daughter of the petitioner is fixed for 11/12.03.2022. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that although he has brought this fact to the notice of the jail authorities but they kept on sleeping over the matter and now, he had no other option but to approach this Court at the fag end. In the entirety of facts and circumstances of the matter, respondent no.2 is directed to treat this petition as representation on behalf of the petitioner and decide the same by passing a speaking and reasoned order during the course of the day. In case a favourable order is passed, the petitioner be released on parole by tomorrow noon positively.
