(Oral) Petitioner has prayed for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus to direct the respondents to consider him for appointment as Male Constable in District Police Cadre, Jalandhar Commissionerate of Punjab Police in the SC category. Petitioner submits that he applied against the post advertised vide advertisement dated 31.05.2016. The selection test was, thereafter, conducted consisting of Physical Measurement Test and Physical Efficiency Test. Petitioner has a feeling that he performed very well and has been arbitrarily rejected.

Admittedly, petitioner has no information with regard to his position in the final selection list. It is inexplicable how petitioner has sought a writ of mandamus for appointment as Constable. Petition is totally frivolous in nature. Same is hereby dismissed with Rs.20,000/- as costs to be remitted to State Legal Services Authority, Punjab.
