(Oral) Quashing of FIR No. 54 dated 15.04.2016 under Sections 452/354/506/148/149 IPC, registered at Police Station Beas, District Amritsar Rural, is being sought on the basis of compromise dated 15.04.2016 (Annexure P-2) and affidavit of respondent No. 2 dated 16.04.2016 (Annexure P-3).

Respondent No. 2 and petitioners are closely related to each other. However, on 11.04.2016, a quarrel took place between the children of respondent No. 2 and petitioners. Due to this reason, women of both sides had a quarrel and subsequently, respondent No. 2 got lodged the above said F.I.R.

However, the matter has now been duly compromised, vide compromise deed/affidavit dated 15.04.2016/16.04.2016 (Annexure P2 & P3).

Crl. Misc. No. M-13703 of 2016 In compliance of order dated 25.04.2016, report of Sub division Judicial Magistrate, Baba Bakala Sahib, District Amritsar has been received in this regard. As per report, statement of complainant and joint statement of petitioners have been recorded. Complainant stated that the matter stands compromised between the parties and she does not want to proceed further against the accused and has no objection, if the present F.I.R be quashed against the petitioner. The compromise has been entered voluntarily. To the same effect is the statement given by the petitioners. Consequently, in view of the status report and in view of the judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the case of Dr. Arvind Barsaul etc.

versus State of Madhya Pradesh and another 2008(2) RCR (Criminal) 910, no useful purpose would be served in prolonging the litigation. Accordingly, FIR No. 54 dated 15.04.2016 under Sections 452/354/506/148/149 IPC, registered at Police Station Beas, District Amritsar Rural, is quashed along with all consequential proceedings arising therefrom qua petitioners.

The petition stands disposed of.
