MAHESH GROVER, J.
The petitioners pray for grant of higher pay scale on account of the qualifications acquired by the petitioners in view of the Punjab Government instructions Annexure P-2.
Learned counsel for the petitioners has placed reliance on a decision of this Court in C.W.P. No.15238 of 1993 titled Ram Rattan Lal and others v. State of Punjab and others rendered on 6.12.2013 wherein it was held as under :- "2. The point involved in these cases for entitlement of the GHANSHYAM DASS 2015.02.12 10:12 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document high court chandigarh
C.W.P. No.6182 of 1995 -2petitioners for additional increments for acquiring higher qualification prior to the cut off date. This point has been answered in several cases the the benefit of 1957 notification must be applied to all such persons.
3. Counsel states that the petitioners must have come by such benefit by now. If the benefit is given already there is no further action to be taken but if it is not so done, the petitioners will have the benefit of increments and higher scales commensurate with the higher qualification that they have obtained.
4. Both the writ petitions are allowed. If on fresh reckoning additional amounts are to be paid the same shall be worked out and paid to the petitioners within a period of eight weeks from today with interests at the rate of 9% per annum." After hearing the learned counsel for the parties, I am of the view that the instant petition is squarely covered by the ratio of the decision rendered by this Court in C.W.P. No.15238 of 2013 (supra) and is disposed of in the same terms.
