Petitioner has invoked the jurisdiction under Article 226 of the Constitution praying for issuance of directions to respondent Nos.1 & 2 to consider his case for grant of parole.

In this case, an application seeking parole was moved by the petitioner on 27.07.2022 but no order has been passed thereon by the Authorities concerned till date.

Clause (11) of Section 12 of Haryana Good Conduct Prisoner's (Temporary Release) Act, 2022 prescribes that the process of parole is to be completed/finalized by the Competent Authority concerned within seven weeks (forty two days). In the instant case, the application is pending for the last about seven months but till date, no decision has been taken thereon in this regard. Without commenting upon the merits of the case, present petition is disposed of, directing the Authorities concerned to consider the case of the petitioner and dispose of the same at the earliest, preferably within a period of two weeks from today.
