MANJARI NEHRU KAUL, J. (Oral) The present petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. has been filed for a direction to respondents No.2 and 3 for taking appropriate legal action against respondents No. 4 to 7 for torturing and harassing the petitioner on account of demand of dowry.

Learned counsel for the petitioner at the outset submits that a direction be issued to the police authorities for taking a decision on the complaint/representation submitted by the petitioner. Keeping in view the limited prayer addressed by the petitioner, facts and circumstances of the case but without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, it is considered appropriate to dispose of this petition, with a direction to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar Rural (respondent No.2) to look into the complaint/representation dated 22.07.2019 (Annexure P1) and take appropriate action as may be required.
