Present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution, inter alia, for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus to direct the respondents to release selection grade to the petitioner from the date his junior Pargat Singh (respondent No. 6) was allowed. At the outset, learned counsel for petitioner, on instructions, submits that during the pendency of present writ petition, respondent No. 5 [Land Reclamation Officer, Land Reclamation Division, UBDN (Upper Bari Doab, Canal), Amritsar], vide speaking order dated 20.07.2020 (R-1), has rejected the claim of petitioner. Therefore, he wishes to withdraw the present petition with liberty to challenge the aforesaid order. Dismissed as withdrawn with the aforesaid liberty.
