The present petition has been filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for directing respondents No.2 to consider and decide the representation dated 05.09.2023 (Annexure P-3) given by the petitioner. 2.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner inter alia contends that the petitioner had purchased land vide sale deeds dated 01.03.1982 and 19.12.1994. The private respondents trespassed into the property of the petitioner and they have taken forcible possession of some part of the land of the petitioner and further, threatened him with dire consequences. In this regard, a complaint was given to respondent No.2 on 05.06.2023. Thereafter on 12.06.2023, petitioner and his wife were attacked by private respondents and in a panchayat convened, they apologized for their conduct. However, private respondents did not mend their ways and again threatened the petitioner and his wife with dire consequences. The petitioner again gave a representation dated 05.09.2023 (Annexure P-3) to respondent No.2 but no action has been taken thereon so far. On the asking of the Court, Mr. Subhash Godara, Addl. A.G., Punjab, who is present in Court, accepts notice for the official respondents and submits that the State is duty bound to protect life and liberty of its citizens. He further submits that the official respondents will look into the representation of the petitioner and decide the same in accordance with law. 4.

Without going into the merits of the case, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to consider the representation dated 05.09.2023 (Annexure P-3) given by the petitioner and take an appropriate decision thereon in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
