ARVIND SINGH SANGWAN J. (Oral) Prayer in this petition is for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in FIR No.42 dated 05.03.2017 registered under Sections 420, 406 and 120-B IPC at Police Station Sadar, Jagraon, District Ludhiana.
The petitioner was directed to join investigation vide order dated 20.04.2017.
On 31.07.2017, counsel for the State, on instructions from the Investigating Officer has informed the Court that the petitioner has not joined the investigation and is involved in 04 more cases under the NDPS Act. The petitioner was again directed to join the investigation and appear before the Investigating Officer on 10.08.2017. It was also made clear that in case the petitioner fail to appear before the Investigating Officer, the petition will be dismissed. Even today, counsel for the State, on instructions from HC Gurdeep Singh, submits that the petitioner has not joined the investigation.
