The petitioner has approached this Court seeking grant of anticipatory bail in respect of a case registered against him vide FIR No.71, dated 26.4.2020, Police Station Lohian, District Jalandhar, under Sections 420, 406 IPC and Section 13 of Punjab Travel Professionals (Regulations) Act, 2014.

At the time of issuance of interim bail the following order was passed on 14.3.2022:

"Learned counsel contends that the name of the petitioner does not figure in the FIR and the alleged transaction between the complainant and other accused is of 2017 and the FIR was lodged after a long delay in the year 2020. He submits that the other co-accused of the petitioner have already been released on interim pre arrest bail vide orders dated 21.01.2021 passed in CRM-M-24431-2020 and CRMM-21074-2020, respectively. - 2 - CRM-M-10704-2022 (O&M) attention of the Court to Annexure P-5 to submits that the dispute between the parties has already been settled. Notice of motion for 17.08.2022.

Meanwhile, the petitioner shall join the investigation and would come present as and when called for and in the event of arrest, the petitioner shall be admitted to interim bail on his furnishing personal and surety bonds to the satisfaction of Arresting/Investigating Officer. The petitioner shall also abide by the conditions as specified under Section 438(2) Cr.P.C."

Learned State counsel, upon instructions from ASI Avtar Singh, has informed that pursuant to interim directions, the petitioner has joined investigation and is not required for custodial interrogation. It has also been informed that the petitioner is not wanted in any other case. 4.

Having regard to the aforestated position wherein the petitioner has joined investigation and is not required for any custodial interrogation, the petition is accepted and the interim directions issued by this Court vide order dated 14.3.2022 are hereby made absolute subject to the condition that the petitioner shall join investigation as and when called upon to do so and cooperate with the Investigating Officer and shall also abide by the conditions as provided under Section 438 (2) Cr.P.C.
