**** SANJAY VASHISTH , J. (Oral) Prayer in the present petition filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is for issuing directions to respondents No.1 to 3 to grant protection of lives and liberty to the petitioners at the hands of private respondents No.4 to 6, and not to harass or interfere in their peaceful married life.

On 16.03.2021, following order was passed:- "Learned counsel for the petitioners contends that the petitioners are receiving threats from respondent Nos.4 to 6, as they have entered into marriage on 02.03.2021 against the wishes of private respondents.

Notice of motion to the official respondents. Mr. Ramdeep Partap Singh, learned Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the official respondents. Learned counsel for the petitioners undertakes to forward the complete copy of the petition to the office of Advocate General, Punjab through e-mail, during the course of the day. Learned counsel for the State prays for time to verify the facts and the existence of alleged threat.

CRWP-2561-2021 - 2 - Learned State counsel, on instructions from ASI Kashmir Singh, submits that against petitioner No.2, one FIR No.182, dated 05.12.2020, under Sections 363, 366-A of IPC, was lodged at P.S. Nur Mehal, Jalandhar (Rural), in which after conducting thorough investigation, cancellation report was submitted, because the parties in dispute had compromised the matter. Said report has been acepted by the concerned Court on 26.07.2022. In view of the compromise amongst the parties, cancellation report has already been submitted, and same has been accepted by the concerned Court; counsel for the petitioners states that as of now, there is no danger to the lives and liberty of the petitoiners, therefore, he does not wish to press present petition at this stage.
