The preset petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of Cr.P.C. for issuance of an appropriate writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing respondents No.2 to 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of respondents No.4 to 9.

In compliance of the order dated 28.02.2024, respondent No.4Bhajan Singh is present today. 3.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioner No.1 could not come present today, however, petitioner No.2 is present and submits that there is no threat perception.

Learned State counsel has filed status report along with copy of statement of private respondents No.4 and 5 by way of affidavit of Achhru Ram, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub-Division Jalalabad, District Fazilka on behalf of respondent No.1-State, which is taken on record. 4.

As per the status report the father of petitioner No.1 has stated Manju 2024.05.06 09:39 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

As per the statement given by the father of petitioner No.1 it seems that he made the statement out of anguish that petitioner No.1 has taken such step, however, considering the fact that there is no threat perception, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to petitioner No.2 to inform the family members of petitioner No.1 about her well-being. Petitioner No.2 is also directed to ensure that petitioner No.1 will communicate with her family members at least three days in a week.

Petitioner No.2 undertakes to get married with petitioner No.1 on attaining the age of marriage at the appropriate time. 7.
