***** Rajan Gupta, J. (Oral) This petition has been filed under Section 439 Cr.P.C. seeking regular bail to the petitioner in a case FIR No.356 dated 20.06.2017 under Section 136 of Electricity Act, registered at Police Station Gharaunda, District Karnal.
Petitioner is stated to be a habitual offender and has been stealing electric equipments.
Admittedly, investigation has been completed and trial is in progress. Petitioner is incarcerated since 18.07.2017. This court does not intend to express any opinion on the merits of the case at this stage. However, trial of the case may take some time to conclude. Thus, no useful purpose would be served by detaining the petitioner any longer. Accordingly, petition is allowed. Petitioner is directed to be enlarged on bail to the satisfaction of Chief Judicial Magistrate/Duty Magistrate, Karnal.
