Present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, interalia, directing the respondents to rectify the anomaly in the pay scales of the petitioners who are working as Pump Operators vis-à-vis Clerks working in the State of Punjab.

At the outset, learned counsel, on instructions from the petitioners submitted that instead of pressing the present petition on merits, his clients would be satisfied in case the legal notice dated 12.01.2022 (P-13) is decided expeditiously.

CWP No.5332 of 2022 In view of the agreed stand taken by both sides, but without going into the merits of the controversy, this writ petition is disposed off with direction to respondent No.1-Secretary, Department of Water Supply & Sanitation Punjab, Chandigarh, to consider and decide the aforesaid legal notice dated 12.01.2022 (P-13) in accordance with law by passing a speaking order preferably within a period of 03 (three) months after the receipt of certified copy of this order.
